strolled the docks at Auke Bay, Alaska with his sketch book
tucked under his arm. As so often happens in this lifestyle,
we struck up a conversation and a friendship began. Since
then we've shared some good meals and a lot of wine and
great conversation. Arnie's silver work is simply elegant and
we're proud to offer it to you here at Pelican Point Trading Co.
Even though Arnie holds the Master of Fine Arts Degree from
the University of Cincinnati, he contends that experience is
the best teacher. During his 26 years in Alaska, he has
experimented with many styles and mediums. Bronze, oil,
stone, wood, watercolor, printmaking, snow sculpting and
jewelry, to name a few. He has worked with many native
artists while working in the Indian Studies Program in the
Public Schools and while operating his own gallery in
Juneau, Alaska. Consequently, much of his work shows an
influence of the art forms indigenous to Alaska.
