that's what I make. Since I have friends who still wear belts I made for
them in 1970, I guess I'm doing something right.
Most of my leather belts and buckles have a "retro" or "vintage"
flavor to them. Some have a nautical bent. All are made with the finest
materials and attention to detail.
On Pelican Point we start with a side of 8 - 9 oz. vegetable tanned
domestic cowhide and cut the straps, tool or carve a design (we also
make plain belts), stain and finish the belt, burnish the edges and
attach the desired buckle with snaps. Each belt, whether it is a plain
black belt or an ornately tooled design, is made one at a time. Each
one is unique.
The belts on this page are all 1 1/2 inches wide. This is the most
popular width for blue jean belts. If you want your belt in a different
