staple in my Portland, Oregon leather shop many years ago. I've
noticed that the styles I used to make are now considered "retro".
Well, that's OK, I'm a little retro myself, so I'm resurrecting some of
those old styles. They are simple and very durable with an earthy
elegance that goes especially well with casual dress. You may not
carry one of our handbags to the opera with your high heels and
pearls but for just about every other occasion they will serve you with
reliability and beauty for many years.
Selection so far is fairly limited but it will grow with time. As with just
about everything we make on Pelican Point, we'll gladly discuss
custom building a handbag for you to your specifications if you can
give us a photo, drawing or even an old worn out purse you'd like
duplicated.
The handbags below are made of the same kind of leather we make
our belts out of, only slightly thinner. This leather is extremely durable
and can be carved or tooled with any number of designs and stained
just about any color imaginable (though I usually stick to variations of
brown).

gusset. The strap is connected
to the purse with stainless
steel D rings and it is
adjustable with a 1 1/2" belt
buckle. The closure on this one
is a leather thong with two

gusset. It has stainless steel
hardware and a closure similar
to the #2 bag. It is dark brown.

has brass rings connecting the strap to the purse and
the strap is adjustable with a 1 1/2" brass belt buckle.
The closure is a sculpted piece of california buckeye
attached to a ring with a braided leather thong adorned
with wooden beads. It slips through a loop on the bag
front that fits through a hole in the flap, making a
simple, attractive closure that secures the flap very
effectively. This bag is light brown. Price: $150.
