Pelican Point Trading Co.

This is the Motor Vessel
Pelican Point, our home and
work place, anchored in a
quiet little bay about 25 miles
from Sitka Alaska, just past
Sergius Narrows on Peril
Strait. It was taken in January
2005 as we were travelling
from Sitka to Hoonah, on Icy
Strait. Not many people travel
the waters of Southeast
Alaska in the winter, except
for a few hardy commercial
fishermen. Consequently, we
had the anchorages to
ourselves.
It is a wonderful experience
to float peacefully and alone
in a wilderness bay with the
snow falling down, going
about our business, a fire
burning in our fireplace,
making stuff.
